our work and coronavirus
During the lockdown, the Academy of Ideas staff have continued to work - if anything, harder than ever. We have taken the opportunity to bring our events online and make them available to everyone. Visit our events page to find out about what's coming up. We are also continuing to work on our flagship project, the Battle of Ideas festival (see below).
At a time when the need to discuss the future direction of society has never been important, please consider supporting our work by giving us a donation. Any gift, large or small, is greatly appreciated. You can donate here.
We have a growing collection of recordings from our coronavirus-related discussions, on everything from the economy and education to politics and the media. You can find a selection of recent and past videos on our video page.
about our projects
The Academy of Ideas hosts a yearly two-day festival, the BATTLE OF IDEAS. We also produce satellite events for the Battle of Ideas across the UK and Europe. Find out more at the Battle of Ideas Festival website.
We also produce standalone events, as well as podcasts of our debates and discussions of current events.
The Academy of Ideas founded the acclaimed Sixth Form debating competition, DEBATING MATTERS, a weekend summer university, THE ACADEMY, and LIVING FREEDOM, a residential school in London for 18- to 25-year-olds. These educational projects are now organised by a new charity, boi. Find out more about the charity's work here.
