Putin’s Russia: a new Cold War?

Listen to the debate from the Battle of Ideas 2017.

The announcement this week by the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, of new missile technology has been widely seen as the latest sign of a ‘new Cold War’. With the US president, Donald Trump, sounding increasingly belligerent and Russia involved in heavy fighting in Syria, are we really heading back to a military standoff between Russia and the West?

This debate from the Battle of Ideas 2017 festival provided an opportunity to discuss the issues.
