A good read: Reading Lolita in Tehran

7:00pm, Monday 24 August 2015, Room G24, Foster Court, London, WC1E 6BT

This is a book club-style discussion of a fascinating book, Reading Lolita in Tehran. English Literature professor Azar Nafisi interweaves her account of living through the Islamic Revolution in Iran in the 1980s - as freedoms are shut down - with literary analysis of Nabokov’s Lolita, Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, and other novels which she is passionate about. Illuminating in so many different ways.
