Wednesday 28 July 2004 Response to ‘Taking it on’
Policy Watch #5
Response to the ‘Taking it on’ consultation on developing UK sustainable development strategy. 'Sustainable development has become an unthinking orthodoxy. When everyone from the most ruthless corporate CEO to the most radical NGO will assent to a label then it can have no value in differentiating one position from another. Furthermore, the consensus on sustainable development conceals a number of negative and incorrect assumptions about the way people relate to each other and to the environment, which urgently need to be debated.'
